Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan earned $222 million on revenues of $19.2 billion in 2010. The company’s 2009 was $21.6 billion and had a $257 million net underwriting loss. BCBSM said that its 2010 bottom line was helped by good returns on investments and efforts to control administrative costs.
