Former Walmart executive to head Ahold’s Giant-Landover

As Ahold USA continues to emphasize ways it can improve its customers’ health and wellness while saving them money, a rising number of shoppers are turning to the food/drug combination store operator for their pharmacy needs. Ahold USA operates 551 pharmacies in 713 supermarkets in a dozen states across the Northeast and mid-Atlantic regions. Ahold’s prescription sales are estimated to be in excess of $2 billion.
Ahold USA announced the appointment of Anthony Hucker as division president of the division, also known as Giant-Landover, effective Oct. 3. Hucker will replace Don Sussman, who has served as the division’s interim president since the end of last year and will assume the role of EVP supply chain for Ahold USA. Hucker, who has worked in retailing for more than 25 years, most recently served at Walmart as corporate VP and head of the Walmart Express division, having joined the retailer in 2004.
